Matthew M. BartkowskiManaging Partner
Matt Bartkowski is the Managing Partner of Kimmel, Carter, Roman & Peltz, P.A., a Delaware personal injury and workers compensation firm. His experience includes general and civil trial practice, federal practice, workers’ compensation, insurance, negligence, construction accidents, and products liability. Mr. Bartkowski practices out of the firm’s Newark office.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Mr. Bartkowski has a proven track record of winning. He appreciates how stressful and uncertain life after a physical or psychological injury can be and is committed to achieving the best possible outcome for each client in every case. He is a skilled negotiator who will work diligently to achieve the settlement you deserve. If a fair negotiated settlement proves unlikely, Mr. Bartkowski also possesses the courtroom experience you need. He is a committed advocate who understands what it takes to succeed at trial and will follow your case through to any appeal.
After a client suffered psychological injuries following an accident during which an automobile was driven into her home, Mr. Bartowski successfully argued in Wisnewski v. Jackman damages could be awarded despite that no physical injury was sustained. He also successfully argued before the court in Wisnewski v. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. that a no-fault automobile insurance policy should cover the same client’s claims. Most impressively, Mr. Bartkowski prevailed on an appeal before the Supreme Court of Delaware in Standard Distributing, Inc. v. Hall after an employer challenged a decision made in favor of his client by the Industrial Accident Board following a work-related injury.
Mr. Bartkowski received his B.S. from the University of Delaware and his J.D. from Widener University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Delaware, the U.S. District Court, District of Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Mr. Bartkowski belongs to the Delaware Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Delaware Trial Lawyers Association, Trial Advocacy Honor Society, and the American Bar Association. He is also a Coach in the Delaware High School and the Salesianum High School Mock Trial Competitions.
